- Jack B. Evans Jr., a.k.a. "Berry" has called the City of Tarrant "home" his entire life.
- Jack played trumpet, tenor saxophone and Euphonium in the "Blue Regiment" Band, where he was also drum major his junior and senior years, was awarded the John Phillip Sousa Band Award and is the last student from Tarrant to make All-State Band--he sat first chair Blue Band.
- Jack was Treasurer of the Senior Class, Historian of the National Honor Society and earned an Advanced Academic Diploma as he graduated with a 4.434 weighted g.p.a. to be co-valedictorian with Marilyn Coker Glasgow, Brandi Threatt Mack was Salutatorian, in 1996
- Following graduation, Jack entered into the United States Marine Corps. where he earned two Meritorious Masts from the Board of Governors of the United States Marine Corps. for graduating first in his class in two of his military occupational specialty schools. He also earned a good conduct medal and received an Honorable Discharge.
- Following the Marine Corps, Jack attended The University of Alabama and marched with the "Million Dollar" Band and was selected to play in the Women's and Men's basketball pep bands.
- Jack's initial major was Aerospace Engineering, but following the events of 9/11, all students in the Aerospace Engineering department were encouraged to change majors for lack of Co-op job opportunities. He was accepted to New College at the Capstone and earned a Bachelor of Science in Oppression Studies and German Language and Culture. Two consecutive summers he studied abroad at Klagenfurt Univeristy's German Language Intensive in Klagenfurt, Austria.
- After graduating from The University of Alabama, Jack attended and graduated from Hofstra University Maurice A. Deane School of Law with his Juris Doctorate and a concentration in Public International Law. The Fall semester of his third year, Jack studied abroad at Erasmus University Faculty of Law in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
- Following graduation, Jack was hired by Hofstra Law School as an Adjunct Special Professor of Law.
- In recognition of his exemplary practice of law in New York, Jack was awarded the Leonard I. Salzman Unsung Hero Award from the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless.
- Shortly thereafter, he was selected as "Humanitarian of the Year" by the National Association of Puerto Rican and Hispanic Social Workers.
- Since returning home to Alabama, Jack has also worked for the Fair Housing Center of Northern Alabama, fighting discrimination in all sectors of the housing market.
- Jack has also worked for Sylvan Learning Center where he was promoted to Director of the Trussville location until January 2024.
